Character Analysis: Joffrey, First of His Name

supernatasha:

Sophie Turner: There are no black and white, good or bad characters in ‘Game Of Thrones,’ but Joffrey was an exception. Just pure evil.

I would actually have to disagree with this statement made by Sophie Turner. I know it really is easier to dismiss Joffrey as being pure evil and a horrible human, etc, but I really REALLY think Joffrey was 80% a product of his upbringing and maybe 20% of his inbred Lannister genes.

Joffrey was raised surrounded only by one thing: power. He learned the MOST important thing in life is power and control. So let’s dissect that.

kimberlite8:

One of the fun things with my Marching Song illustrated novella project was designing my own Sandor sigil.  All of the House Clegane sigils that I have seen have the three dogs design with the dogs in a row. I wanted something different, so here’s what bubug and I came up with. As some of you know, especially those who have read Running/Hunting, I’m a classics enthusiast. So the design of the sigil is inspired by antiquity depictions of Cerberus, the three headed hound that guards Hades.
And just as Illyrio decried, a true Westerosi has to make a tshirt out of it:

That seemed to amuse the lord of cheese no end. He slapped a meaty thigh and said, “You Westerosi are all the same. You sew some beast upon a scrap of silk, and suddenly you are all lions or dragons or eagles. I can take you to a real lion, my little friend. The prince keeps a pride in his menagerie. Would you like to share a cage with them?”
The lords of the Seven Kingdoms did make rather much of their sigils, Tyrion had to admit.

Here’s a tshirt I had made for coveredincleganedna for whom I am writing Marching Song.
